A Mother’s Day Giggle for Moms in Business

We can all agree that one of the best gifts we receive on Mother’s Day, or any day, is an empathetic shoulder to cry on every once in a while. Second runner up is definitely a good laugh at everything we all go through as Mompreneurs, multi-tasking our way through family, work and some sense of our own personal well-being.We recently asked a few friends how they know they have truly mastered the Business of Being a Mom.
“YOU KNOW YOU HAVE MASTERED THE BUSINESS OF BEING A MOM WHEN…..
… your kitchen counter doubles as your R&D department.”
… your laptop is never on your lap because a toddler always is”
… you convinced your husband Sponge Bob is teaching your kids about marine life.”
… you set up a reward chart with stars and smiley faces to motivate your sales team.”
… you step out of bed and on to your “to do” list at least one morning a week.”
… you’re hoping leftover pizza and brownie crumbs will convince the Fed Ex driver to wait around while you finish your orders.”
… your first meal today was easy mac with a spork at 3:00 pm”
… you recently Googled legal age to leave my child alone”
… you used a bowl of honey, a whisk and a box of Kix to entertain your kids during a Skype call.”
… you didn’t hesitate to go into your last TV interview with a Dora the Explorer band aid on your finger.”
… you have considered sending your kids door to door in their soccer uniforms to fund your next PO.”
… you bribed your teenager with $20 and a ride to the mall, just to keep her off your computer.”
… you broke two or more child labor laws this week.”
… you lose your purse, wallet, husband, wedding ring, kids and/or cell phone for 24 hours at least once a month.”
… you had to sniff your armpit before going into your last board meeting.”
… you offered your sons teacher Free Shipping on any order over $100.”
… you would rather do your 6th graders Algebra homework than calculate your break-even one more time.”
… your kids don’t recognize you without your Bluetooth on.”
And our favorite way to know you have Mastered the Business of Being a Mom….
…your business and your family can easily survive for two weeks on the contents of your minivan.”
